Many of you have been asking us to post an update on the status of White Light Wellness Studios located at 103 N Apopka Ave in Inverness. Some of you are aware that we have been completely closed since the April 17th Storm Distillery explosion, which caused the entire property to be closed off by the Fire Marshall and other governmental entities. Our building, located behind Storm Distillery, remained blocked off until the second week of June.

When we finally went into the studios to assess the condition of the spaces and our items, we discovered what appeared to be major damage that was caused by the explosion. Additionally, we saw notices stuck to our doors telling us we were late on our rent. We immediately contacted our attorney so he could communicate with the property manager and owner on our behalf. We informed them about the damage observed in our spaces and reminded them that we were still unable to operate and had only just been granted full access, which, as of this past weekend, was revoked again with the installation of barriers around the property. Since the damage was significant and mold growth was observed, we immediately removed our items from the spaces to preserve our property with no plan to return. To our surprise and dismay, the property manager and owner denied that the damages we claimed existed. Faced with this obstacle, we decided to hire JD Inspections to inspect the studios so we could receive a comprehensive report of the findings. The resulting report clearly shows significant concussive force damage to our spaces that occurred after the renovations we performed. Our attorney submitted this report to the property manager and owner so they could see the significant damage to their building and the need for their attention.

A couple of nights ago, we received the shocking news that the building's owner was planning to sue White Light Wellness Studios and me personally. Apparently, they want to keep our security deposit and force us to continue paying rent on damaged property that we clearly cannot use or access. The nature of our work prevents us from having our clients in a moldy environment for health reasons. Our materials and products must be free of toxins and contaminants, and even if those conditions did not exist, the property would still be inaccessible due to the reinstallation of barriers.

We are currently pursuing the best legal remedies to resolve this conflict so that we, as one of the victims of the Storm Distillery catastrophe, can pick up the pieces and move onward. We only just opened our business on March 3rd of this year when the explosion happened almost a month and a half later!

We appreciate your continued support, and our thoughts remain with the other victims of this tragedy.
