🎉 Celebrating 100 Years of Family Ownership at Brannen Bank!

What an incredible milestone and a true testament to a century of commitment, leadership, and service to Citrus County and the people who call it home.

The story began on July 1, 1926, when George Brannen Sr. opened the Bank of Inverness, laying the foundation for what would become Brannen Bank. In 1929, Brannen Insurance was established inside the Bank of Inverness, providing insurance services to the community alongside the bank.

In 1962, Margaret Brannen and Thomas Hagar were married. As banking regulations evolved and required banking and insurance operations to be separated, Thomas Hagar established Hagar Brannen Insurance, Inc., creating the foundation for what is known today as The Hagar Group. Today, that legacy continues under the leadership of Greg Hagar, the oldest grandson of George Brannen Sr., proudly carrying forward the shared values and traditions established generations ago.

As we celebrate this beautiful monument honoring 100 years of family ownership, we're reminded of how deeply connected our histories are. The Hagar Group is honored to have its roots intertwined with the Brannen family's legacy and the rich history of Citrus County.
