We are so excited to celebrate Kimora as she begins her next chapter! This fall, she will be attending CSU Dominguez Hills as a recipient of the Toro Scholarship.
Affectionately known as "The Queen," Kimora has been such a special part of our Young Women's Program. Her warmth, outgoing spirit, and ability to bring people together have made a lasting impact on our community. Whether through thoughtful class discussions, creating connections among her peers, or helping make our retreats feel like home, Kimora has always led with kindness and authenticity.
We are so proud of everything she has accomplished and cannot wait to see all that she will do at CSU Dominguez Hills. Congratulations, Kimora! We know this is only the beginning.
Yesterday, learning came to life beyond the classroom as SJLI Urban Scholars spent the day at Knott’s Berry Farm participating in the park’s Energy in Motion program.
Through hands-on experiences, scholars explored physics concepts such as force, velocity, speed, and centripetal force, discovering how these principles power the rides and attractions around them. What started as a lesson in science quickly became an engaging opportunity to connect classroom learning to the real world.
Experiences like these remind us that education extends far beyond four walls, inspiring curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world around us.
