I’ve always respected gustavo_arellano not just because he’s a columnist, but because he’s always taken the time to tell the stories behind small businesses, raza, culture, and food. Back in 2018, when Outside the Masa was just a little pop-up, Gustavo Arellano pulled up and gave us a shot. We were just out there trying to make good food and hoping people would notice.En 2022, nos volvió a visitar durante el Indio International Tamale Festival. Poco después, nos mencionó en su LA Times column, justo cuando habíamos comprado el pequeño taco shop que algún día sera nuestro propio restaurante. Hace a un par de días… volvió a caerle. Esta vez a nuestro changarro. Still showing love. Still enjoying the food. Y hasta compartiéndolo en sus IG stories.

Opening Outside the Masa has been an amazing experience, and we’re grateful for every guest who has walked through our doors.
As the Coachella Valley summer arrives with temperatures regularly climbing above 110°F and seasonal traffic slows, we’ll be moving to our summer operating hours. These hours are temporary and allow us to continue providing the quality and hospitality you deserve while keeping our hardworking team safe during the hottest months of the year.

• Sunday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

• Monday: Closed

• Tuesday–Friday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

• Saturday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
