Bald Eagles have been making great strides in increasing their population. In 1963 there was only about 400 nesting pairs left. But now there are almost 10,000 nesting pairs. Did you know that both the male and female Bald Eagle build the nest. The nests can be found in a large tree, or on the side of the cliff. Their nests are usually made up of sticks. Every year they may add to their nest which can increase its size. The biggest known eagle nest was 9.5 feet around, and 20 feet deep! That's huge!
