Premature babies are at high risk for a variety of complications, one of those being Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC). It is a severe, life-threatening intestinal disease primarily affecting premature infants.

Breast milk provides essential nutrients, antibodies, and enzymes that protect against infections, such as NEC. When mother’s own milk is not available, pasteurized donor human milk is the next safest option.
