Strong communities start with strong support for children.

The majority of Americans agree: investing in childcare and early learning is an investment worth making.

72% of voters believe federal funding for childcare and early learning programs is a good investment, including 62% of Republicans and 83% of Democrats.

Quality early learning benefits everyone. Head Start helps children enter school ready to learn, supports working families, strengthens local economies, and builds brighter futures for Indiana's youngest learners.

When we invest in children today, we invest in a stronger Indiana tomorrow.

Two paths. One powerful start.
Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and early learning can make a lasting difference.
Research shows that children who attend Head Start are more likely to:
• Enter kindergarten ready to learn
• Build stronger social and emotional skills
• Succeed in school and graduate at higher rates
• Experience healthier, more stable lives as adults

When children have access to high-quality early learning experiences, the benefits extend far beyond the classroom, including strengthening families, communities, and future generations.
At Indiana Head Start, we're investing in children today to help create brighter tomorrows.

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has proposed rule changes (OMB-2026-0034) that threaten to tie our local early childhood programs up in crippling bureaucratic red tape. This proposal risks introducing new political bottlenecks and strict payment hurdles that make it harder to meet payroll and keep program doors open.

In Indiana, Head Start serves over 12,900+ children and employs 4,000+ local workers. We cannot let red tape disrupt care for Hoosier families.
