Early math starts long before kindergarten! ✨

We had a fantastic morning at Expert Voices: Exploring Numeracy: A Mathematical Journey for Infants to Pre-K Children with Dr. Ryan Flessner at The Butler University College of Education and Human Development. Educators explored hands-on strategies for supporting young children's mathematical thinking through play, exploration and everyday experiences.

Building strong numeracy skills in the early years helps lay the foundation for future learning, problem-solving, and confidence. Thank you to everyone who joined us and is helping make math meaningful for Indiana's youngest learners!

Multiple Early Learning Indiana and Day Early Learning team members shared their expertise at the Indiana AEYC Conference earlier this month. They led engaging sessions on topics including Classroom Ready, using music in the classroom and building community.

We’re proud to see our team represented at this annual conference that brings together early childhood education professionals from across the state.

Last week, we hosted the final session of our latest Ready to Lead cohort in partnership with the McCormick Institute for Early Childhood.

This session focused on the critical role strong leadership plays in early childhood education and gave participants the opportunity to reflect on their leadership styles, values and strategies for leading with confidence and integrity.

We’re committed to supporting and strengthening the early childhood workforce by investing in professional development opportunities that empower leaders across our field. Thank you to the dedicated group of early childhood professionals for taking the time to participate in this series.

Today, we welcomed Michelle Kang, Chief Executive Officer of The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and Dr. Hanan Osman, CEO and Executive Director of Indiana AEYC, to one of our Day Early Learning schools.

During their visit, they met with our CEO, Erin Kissling, witnessed engaging learning in classrooms and discussed our shared commitment to supporting children, families and the early childhood workforce through high-quality early learning experiences.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with leaders who are championing children, families and the early childhood workforce at both the state and national levels.
