Meet Our Board Member: Rodney Frieden!

Rodney has been part of Pack Away Hunger since its inception, hosting meal-packing events of all sizes and helping expand its reach across the community. He was drawn early on to the organization’s ability to create meaningful service opportunities with a tangible, lasting impact.
Rodney brings a unique blend of corporate and nonprofit financial expertise, shaped by years of experience as an executive and business owner. A respected leader, administrator, preacher, and teacher, he has a proven track record of serving both secular organizations and the church with clarity and purpose.

He currently serves as Senior Pastor at Epworth United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. Over the past decade, Rodney has also played a key role in shaping stewardship across the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church as Chair of the Conference Council on Finance and Administration, providing financial oversight for the entire conference.

Known for his thoughtful, people-first leadership style, Rodney is deeply committed to recognizing the value every individual brings to the mission.

Serving on the board is a natural extension of his passion for impact. Rodney believes faith should inspire action — and through Pack Away Hunger, he helps make a difference one meal at a time.

In the battle against hunger and malnutrition, our sole focus is to provide the most nutritious meal possible. To create this meal we sought expertise from The Mathile Institute for the Advancement of Human Nutrition. The result is our Nutri-PlentyTM Meal, fueled by Mathile M+ MicronutrientsTM, a scientifically-proven blend of 21 vitamins and minerals shown to help alleviate and also reverse the effects of micronutrient malnutrition in young children.
