On National Pet Fire Safety Day, we're sharing some life-saving tips to keep your furry friends protected. Share these safety measures and give your pets the best chance in case of a fire emergency! 🚒❤️
🔥Keep collars and identification tags on your pets at all times. In the chaos of a fire, it will help firefighters identify and reunite them with you.
🔥Place pet alert stickers on windows or doors to inform firefighters of the number and types of pets inside your home. Make sure to keep them updated.
🔥Secure open flames and use pet-safe alternatives. Keep candles, stovetops, and space heaters out of reach to prevent accidental burns or fire-starting by curious paws.
🔥Create a pet evacuation plan. Practice regular fire drills and establish a designated meeting point outside. Make sure everyone in the family knows how to safely handle and transport pets.
🔥Pet-proof your home. Remove potential fire hazards such as loose wires, chewable cords, and flammable materials. Store chemicals and cleaning agents in secure cabinets.
🔥Invest in monitored smoke detectors and fire alarms. These systems can provide early detection, allowing you to react quickly and safeguard your pets.

On a day when air temperature hits 87°F, asphalt surface temperature can reach 143°F according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Paw pad burns can develop in under 60 seconds. Place the back of your hand on the pavement and hold it there for 7 seconds. If it is too hot for your hand, it is too hot for their paws. 🐾☀️
