Hayes has been settling into his foster home, and do you know what he's been doing most? Sleeping. đź’¤

One of the biggest changes dogs experience when they leave the shelter is finally being able to get deep, restful sleep. Shelters are full of activity...there are dogs barking, people coming and going, cleaning, feeding, and daily routines that make it difficult to truly relax. When many dogs enter foster care, the first thing they want to do is catch up on all the rest they've been missing!

Hayes' foster pawrent has been encouraging him to do exactly that. ❤️

When he's awake, Hayes is showing off just how sweet he is. While he can be a little nervous when meeting new people, all he really needs is a little patience. Give him a few minutes, and he's leaning in for pets, following you around the house, and covering you in kisses like you've been best friends forever.

You can apply to adopt Hayes at indyhumane.org

Right now, what Ember needs most is a home to continue healing in. ❤️

When Ember arrived at IndyHumane, her skin was painfully swollen and irritated, and even taking a few steps was uncomfortable for her. Her owner made the difficult decision to surrender her, knowing her condition had gone untreated for far too long. Our medical team got to work immediately helping her feel comfortable again, and while Ember has already shown incredible improvement, healing from severe dermatitis takes time.

Today, Ember is in much less pain, and every day she’s becoming more comfortable, confident, and happy. She’ll need ongoing care for her skin and ears, including medicated baths and oral medication, but what will help her heal most is a patient, loving home where she can finally rest and feel safe.
Ember can be a little shy at first, but underneath that timid exterior is an incredibly sweet girl just waiting to trust someone again.

Ember is available for adoption at IndyHumane!
