Pan is the god of shepherds, flocks, nature, and wilderness in the Greek pantheon. He is commonly depicted playing the syrinx, also known as the pan-flute or pan-pipes. In many Greek myths Pan is associated with the nymphs, who are feminine personifications of nature. While he was considered a minor deity in the Greek pantheon, he has much cultural relevance in the modern day.
