Throughout my life, there has been one experience that I have had little to no exposure to - REJECTION.

✴️ I was accepted to my first choice university.

✴️ I was accepted to the first teaching position I wanted.

✴️ The first apartment I wanted - available for me.

I've been able to live where I wanted, travel where I want to, and be with the people I want to be with.

Sure there were some rejections, but they were few and far in-between.

Then I transitioned out of the classroom and started my own freelance business. And anyone who's been an entrepreneur for more than 5 minutes will tell you, rejection is a MAJOR part of the gig.

And you know what? It hurts, and I hate it.

I want everyone to like me and everyone to need my services.

But that's not reality.

And I'm learning that those rejections can actually be a huge learning experience if I step away from the fear of not being liked by everyone.

Here are my takeaways:
1. When (not if) you are rejected, stand there and take it. Don't cower in fear or run away from it. Rejection is a part of life and the more it happens, the more you can move on.

When (not if) you are rejected, try again. Just because you are rejected once for something, does not mean you will always be rejected. Resilience and perseverance have been hallmark qualities of some of the greatest entrepreneurs in history.
