If youβre still doing sumo squats to build your glutes, you might be wasting your time. π
To fully target the glutes, you need hip extension, meaning your knees should travel forward and close to your body. Sumo squats do the exact opposite. Because your feet and knees go out wide, this movement actually targets your adductors (inner thighs), not your glutes. Plus, that ultra-wide position forces your hip joints to roll unnaturally, which is why your hips might pop during the movement.
