What do you do when the only way to save someone is to erase yourself from existence? I spent almost a year answering that question. The result just went live.
I killed my main character 47 times before I figured out how to save him.
Elysium Fallen is out today. Just in time for Halloween... because winter is coming, and you're going to need something dark to keep you company on those long, cold nights.
This one... this one cost me something. You know that feeling when you're writing a scene and you realize you've been holding your breath? That happened a lot with this book. More than I want to admit.
Our hero is sixteen. Gets his skull kicked in during a sparring match. And suddenly he remembers dying. Over and over. Thousands of years of it. Different lives, different deaths, all leading back to the same prison.
His world is a lie. His father is a god. His friends are being erased one by one.
And the only people offering help? A journal that writes itself and a girl who might be the thing sent to destroy him.
I've spent twenty years managing chaos in tech. Building systems. Keeping disasters from spreading.
This book is what happens when you suddenly find yourself with a lot more free time and take those technomancer instincts... and apply it to cosmic horror. To abuse. To the kind of love that makes you choose annihilation over watching someone you care about suffer.
It's not a happy story. But it's an honest one.
If you liked Book 1, this one hits harder. Faster. Meaner. The stakes aren't just survival anymore. They're about whether existence itself deserves to continue.

Bills are coming, but so is my Twitch stream. Between job hunting and coding, I’m taking on Project Gorgon live. Need 25 more followers to hit monetization—your follow = my coffee fund. Don’t miss the show 👇
It's Friday – and you know what that means for us members: we're one weekend closer to those delightful monthly bills rolling in.
Sure, I'm grinding through job applications and networking events during the week, but that doesn't mean life stops. Between building AI prototypes and applications, I've got to maintain some semblance of sanity somehow.
Enter: video games. Specifically, grinding out levels in this new MMO that feels like old-school EverQuest. We're talking rabid cows, zombie pigs, and yes – you can literally play as a spider (that's an actual class, not kidding).
This weekend, I'm firing up the Twitch stream for some Project Gorgon action. Here's where you come in – I need about 25 more followers to unlock monetization. Won't cost you a dime, but it might just help me cover those upcoming expenses. Or at minimum, fuel my Monday morning coffee addiction so I can dive back into the job hunt with proper caffeination.
Consider this your official invitation to watch me get absolutely demolished by some very angry virtual livestock. It's entertainment, it's networking, and honestly? Sometimes we all need to laugh at someone else's digital misfortune.
Come hang out this weekend: https://www.twitch.tv/kame_bard
Because nothing says "professional development" like watching a software leader get owned by pixelated cows.
🧃 Join the tribe. We’ve got juice boxes, job market scars, AI-induced existential dread, and real talk about tech leadership. Follow for rants, riffs, and the occasional roadmap out of the chaos.
kame_bard - Twitch I’ve been playing MMOs since back when they were just MUDs and your modem screamed at you every time you logged in. Spent most of the 90s maxing out a toon in Ultima Online and grinding raids in EverQuest (back before Sony lost the plot). Dabbled in Star Wars Galaxies and Asheron’s Call too.
