The Blue Mill

This is a custom faux iron hood I built as part of a kitchen remodel. These pictures show some of the processes for building and painting the hood.

Even a simple desk can be interesting if you use the right wood. This one is made out of Ambrosia Maple with a hand-rubbed hardwax oil finish.

We really brightened up this kitchen, taking it from the 90's golden oak to the clean lines of a white Shaker Cabinet.

We built the top of this table using floor joist we reclaimed from an old farm house that we remodeled several years ago. All of the knots and nail holes have been filled with a colored epoxy, making the top easy to clean while bringing out all the character these defects add to the top. The stain on the top is a medium brown and it has been top coated with 4 coats of polyurethane. The base is made from solid Fir painted charcoal gray and top coated with a dull lacquer.

The nightstands and dresser have started the 8 coat finishing process that will give them a smooth, gloss white lacquer finish. Here, I'm test fitting the drawer front on the dresser, which will be a rustic barn wood.
