During the battle of Little Big Horn (aka Greasy Grass), a large number of natives rode out to meet Custer. Chief One Bull just wanted to talk and raised his hand making the sign of peace. But the soldiers fanned out and began firing and the rest is history. They, the soldiers, all died. This ancient symbol of peace raised by One Bull, is noted in various places but especially in her book "He Walked the America's " by L. HANSON. Hanson suggests that, in documenting by permission the legends and mists of the past told to her by these native sages and Holy men, Christ, himself, may have been the one that implemented this symbol as he walked among the warring tribes of the America's and South Sea islands trying to bring peace. This symbol is still seen today in native artwork and cowboy movies (which bastardises its original meaning of healing and peace). I have taken this symbol in my ministry to represent me, as well. It is a salutation also known among my own faith and practiced in the 1830's. Although almost forgotten again today, I cannot ignore that Christ himself may have raised his scarred hands in power to bring peace to troubled peoples. Given the opportunity, so will I. Are you my brother? If so, by this symbol I accept you into fellowship and, after communing with you, wish you Christ's peace as you re-enter the chaotic world that surrounds us today.
According to the word, there are judgements upon the land. They include the testimonies of thunderings, lightnings, tempests, waves heaving themselves beyond their bounds, and other naturally occurring witnesses that the Lord is not pleased with us. Do your hear his groanings? Are you ready to repent and give ear to his counsel. He comes looking for his righteous and to dispel the fear that grips so many because of these witnesses. The time of procrastination is past. I see his upraised hand revealing the scars that offer so much peace and healing. Are you ready to receive him?
It is not guns that will save us in our day-to-day lives. It is the power of Jesus Christ living within us. How do I know? I am a retired Public Safety Officer and armed private security officer of 30 years and confess that it happened more than once that I am aware of in the performance of my duties. It seems to be our willingness to do the unthinkable in combination with our faith in God that invokes this protection, at least that was so for me. Let the spirit of the Lord fill you replacing the evil that once dwelled there, and thereby invoke the promises of God. I did and confess that my life is no longer my own. I owe too much to deny the grace I have received.

In L. Hanson's book, "He Walked the America's", she details the many legends retold by natives that lived over vast areas of North, Central, South America and the South Sea Pacific Islands. She describes a great healer who came to them and, in many cases, stopped their warring and hate. His symbol and ensign of peace to them was uplifted hands showing his scarred palms. In all cases these people loved him and wept when he left again on his mission of peace. She went beyond her educated scientific background to report this and received much favor among those she interviewed. There are other stories of raised and uplifted hands that promised peace by a character such as this. It is emblazoned on the walls, rocks, and pottery in many placed, including Chaco canyon in the US. Regardless of source, this is a fitting symbol that reminds us today of our risen Savior. Indeed, he may have walked among our native ancestors. Her book is worth prayerfully reading. There is still too much wrapped in the mists and mystery of time that we do not yet know. But if proven true, what a powerful witness that would be!!
I think we should treat church like a SCIFF and leave our cell phones out of the sanctuary. There's too much distraction already.
Just read some very wise thoughts. Sound familiar? (1) You cannot remove a high and corrupt leader except through much contention and bloodshed (2) he has friends that will guard and protect him (3) he will tear up the laws of those good people who came before him (4) he will trash the commandments of God in favor of his own (5) he will enact laws that support him in his wickedness (6) if you refuse to follow the laws he will have you destroyed (7) and he will send his armies against the rebellious to destroy them all if he can. All this to pervert the ways of the goodly men and women that came before him, and replace it with abominations and corruption that serve his own selfish and self-centered lusts.
"Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead cheat a friend. Do in the name of heaven, you can justify it in the end. There won't be any trumpets blowing come the judgement day. On the bloodly morning after....." Who will ride away? God knows the sheep of his pasture and they have no reason to fear. It is they who will sit down in peace.
