Maxey is getting into the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series & was showing me all the books he has, so we decided to do a little photoshoot. He was not only my model but my assistant creative director. He came up with ideas on how to pose and set up the books. Can you tell which shots he was in charge of? Always makes this mama’s heart melt when any of my kids say “when I grow up, I want to be a photographer like you” (even if he did just tell his dad a couple weeks ago that he’d take over his job when he grew up too 😂)

I’ve always had such a love & respect for anything in the sky. My dad got my hooked at a very young age when he’d wake me up late at night to see a certain star or the moon. He’d also carry me on his back high up in the sky on things, making me feel like a bird. So the sky is as much a part of me as the air. (skydiving was the greatest experience I ever had!!) I was like a giddy little girl watching the different phases today, feeling the air and temperature change, along with the lighting change (ya know, a big thing photographers love! 😉) we had a 90.95% coverage eclipse here in Independence, MO.
I didn’t take any photos of the eclipse since my camera wasn’t quite eclipse ready but I got a couple shots of me watching it for my self portrait series + added a couple from the youngest kiddos getting to watch it at school & my watch party crew 🤩. 🌘🤍☀️
