Besides knowing the perfect way to roast a marshmallow, here are a few safety rules for the backyard bonfire:

A fire should be at least 25 feet away from any structures, tents, shrubs, or overhanging branches.

Never leave your bonfire unattended.

Be aware of the wind.

Keep a 3 foot rule around the fire for the safety of pets and children.

Always douse fire with water and ensure it is completely out before leaving unattended.

Summer storms happen.
If severe weather is forecasted, remember to take a few minutes to prepare your backyard.
Lower umbrellas
Cover up grills or furniture
Stack chairs
Put away any loose or light weight items

Generally your coverage through your personal auto policy extends to rental cars, especially in the US and Canada.

When you might want to consider the rental car insurance:

High Deductibles: If your personal auto deductible is considerably higher than the rental company’s Loss Damage Waiver (LDW), then the waiver might be cheaper if a minor fender bender occurs.

U.S. policies rarely cover rentals in foreign countries. You will likely need local or supplemental coverage when aboard.

So if you are renting a luxury car and that's not comparative to your normal everyday vehicle, you may need extra coverage. Your policy may not cover the replacement value of the higher-end vehicle.
