It is with great reluctance, the Tribal Information Services Department announces the farewell of Southern Ute Drum Media Manager, Mr. Jeremy Shockley. Mr. Shockley was hired 14 years ago as the Photographer/Reporter. He stayed on board for five years and ventured out on his own professional sabbatical. Mr. Shockley returned to the Southern Ute DRUM newspaper in 2017 as the Reporter/Photographer and transitioned in the Media Manager shortly after being rehired.

Jeremy has been committed to the Southern Ute Indian Tribe and its people for almost two decades. He has developed relationships with staff, tribal membership, the journalism community, and all of our tribal community and its supporters of news media and photography.

Tribal Information Services cordially invites all tribal entity staff and tribal membership to a farewell reception in the Hall of Warriors, in the Leonard C. Burch Building’s Hall of Warriors, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

For more information, please feel free to contact Ms. Amy J. Barry, TIS Director, at (970) 563-2250 or [email protected].

Warm Cookies of the Revolution Warm Cookies of the Revolution is putting out a BIG Call for Artists, in collaboration with many program partners in Alamosa and the broader San Luis Valley. This Call is open to all artists who live in or have deep roots in Colorado or New Mexico. This exhibition explores many creative forms, styles, media, mediums, and disciplines. This is not your average artist call. It is wide open like the western skies–experimental and abstract by design.
Exhibitions open in four unique sites in downtown Alamosa on June 20th, 2026 (Summer Solstice). Additional exhibition sites will pop up late summer and early fall. Installations and programming will continue through the Winter Solstice in December. There is a wide range of futurist themes at play, including humanity, technology, sustainability, culture, identity, land, water, nature, healing, infrastructure, and design. We will make the process for getting your art to Alamosa cost free and easy.
