We are proud to celebrate Idyllwild Arts alumna Erica Haskell (Music '94) on her appointment as Managing Director of the Yale School of Music. 🎶👏✨

A respected arts administrator, educator, scholar, and music industry leader, Erica most recently served as the inaugural director of the School of Performing Arts at Rochester Institute of Technology, where she helped launch a new performing arts school, oversaw more than 2,000 students, and led the opening of several new performance venues. 🎭🎼

She is also the co-founder of Free Dirt Records, an independent label known for championing innovative artists and diverse voices in American roots music. 🎵🌟

🎶🎷What happens when talented young musicians spend two weeks learning from some of the most accomplished jazz artists in the country? Running June 28–July 11, the Jazz in the Pines Student Clinic gives students ages 13–17 the opportunity to dive into daily rehearsals, masterclasses, ensemble performance, improvisation, arranging, and music theory while working alongside world-renowned faculty and fellow musicians who share their passion for jazz. The session concludes with concerts featuring both students and faculty, celebrating everything learned throughout the program.

🚀🎨 Eleven Idyllwild Arts Visual Arts students have been selected to create artwork for Astrocamp's new Project Artemis installation, an exciting partnership that brings together art, science, and exploration. As part of a design competition, students were invited to create original artwork representing pivotal eras in human history and discovery. Their winning pieces will become a permanent part of the installation, inspiring thousands of Astrocamp participants each year for decades to come. Each student will also receive a cash award in recognition of their achievement.
