Idyllwild friends, neighbors, and tree lovers — we need to speak up.

The USDA has issued an emergency order that opens the door to expanded logging in our national forests, including those surrounding our home in the San Jacinto Mountains. This policy threatens mature, irreplaceable trees — some of which have stood for centuries, anchoring entire ecosystems and defining the natural beauty we all cherish.

These trees are more than scenery. They clean our air, protect our water, support wildlife, and stabilize the climate. Once cut, they can’t be restored within a human lifetime.

We know fire prevention matters — but large-scale logging is not the answer. The forest is not a resource to be extracted. **It is a living, breathing part of our identity here in Idyllwild.**

Let’s come together, raise our voices, and defend the forest that has always protected us.
