The concept is 8 x 12“ on watercolor paper, painted in indigo ink and white paint, versus the painting done at 20 x 30” in acrylic on panel. I still need to do prints of this one.

This was a fun one that I finally was able to get photos done of. I got to be very experiment with this one and take it further in some ways than I’ve taken another painting before. It’s a family portrait featuring Shenron from Dragon Ball. I had fun, giving it a riveted metal board and doing the painting on actual aluminum. Figuring out the mechanics of how to perfectly fit and mount the backboard and aluminum into the frame was a fun challenge to figure out. And then painting it quinacridone rose to contrast with that space background was really intriguing to me. I’d love to do the same kind of approach and test out some other colors that pop really well together.
