From May 26-28, 2026, Command Sgt. Maj. Scott Wondrasek and Lt. Col. avid Delassus, the command team for the 414th Contracting Support Brigade, deployed forward to Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Africa. They visited Sgt. 1st Class Philhwa (Pira) Kim and Staff Sgt. Samuel Martin, 414th members who are deployed as contracting specialists for the Contingency Contracting Office (CCO) Horn of Africa. They tested forward mission command concepts and the feasibility for the 414th CSB Tactical Command Post operations from the Contingency Contracting Office (CCO) Horn of Africa, as well as conducting senior leader engagements with Joint leaders from the Navy and other members of the Army from the Southern European Task Force Africa (SETAF-AF). Topics discussed included emerging requirements for Operation United Assistance 2, Ebola Response; future operations regarding the Army Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP) Contracting Administration in Somalia; and much more. The entire 414th CSB Command team and the CCO Horn of Africa also had the opportunity to have dinner off base at a local Djiboutian restaurant.

The 923rd Contracting Battalion held its Quarterly Townhall recently at Fort Riley, bringing together Soldiers, civilians, and families for leader updates, recognition, and team building. Battalion commander Lt. Col. Kwame Agyemang provided a battalion-wide operational overview and highlighted key accomplishments across the formation. The unit formally hailed incoming commander Lt. Col. Ryan Dittmer and his family, strengthening continuity as the battalion prepares for its upcoming transition. The event concluded with recognition of multiple team members for their accomplishments and years of service, underscoring the battalion’s enduring commitment to excellence, professionalism, and the people who drive the mission forward.

The 410th Contract Support Brigade executed a staff ride to the National Museum of the Pacific War on May 27, 2026, to provide both military and civilian members of the brigade a shared professional development experience grounded in the history of the Pacific War, drawing operational and logistical lessons relevant to the modern contract support mission.
