Madison County nonprofit builds ramp for 7-year-old girl with brain injury 05/21/2026

We are grateful to WAAY-TV 31 News for sharing the story behind a recent wheelchair ramp build completed by Enable Madison County volunteers and the Redstone Arsenal Silver Chapter of the US Army Warrant Officer Association

While we shared photos from the build, this story highlights the deeper impact for 7-year-old Reina, a Madison County resident, living with a traumatic brain injury. Because she relies entirely on her grandparents for mobility and daily care, the new ramp now gives her grandparents a safer, easier way to get her in and out of the home each day, reducing physical strain while making daily routines safer and more manageable.

We are also deeply thankful to the Alexander family for allowing us to share their story and helping shine a light on the importance of accessibility, caregiving, and community support.
