Construction begins June 15 on a $5.3 million project to widen a one-mile stretch of Highway 53 in Harvest from Ta**us Drive to Harvest Road.

The project will expand the roadway to five lanes and is expected to be completed in late 2027, with periodic traffic delays during construction.
