A Lady Baking

Good evening everyone,

Sharing with you some recent baking - this past weekend I had the blessing to make some cupcakes and cookies for a baby shower that my cousin Ginger was helping to host. The shower them was "She's Ready to Pop!" The cookies were Vanilla Almond in two different shapes - one with the baby's name, Ivory, and the other in the shape of bottle caps, with "Ready to Pop!" on the top. I also made 3 dozen cupcakes in Strawberry and Chocolate flavors with buttercream frosting.

Happy mid-June everyone,

Can't believe we're almost at summer - of course with the heat and humidity, it sure already feels like it! So far, June has been a busy month to celebrate birthdays, and especially for two very special little girls.

Our dear friend Connie has two beautiful twin granddaughters, Emmie and Ellie, and they just turned 3-years old this past week. Connie asked for a special cake to help fit in with their "princess" theme, so I made a Vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and covered with pink and pastel flowers. They had a great party and really enjoyed the cake - such pretty little girls.

Thanks to Connie and her daughter Alex for asking me to be a part of the special celebration!

Hello everyone,

This past weekend, I had the honor of helping a very special couple celebrate their marriage - Mark and Maddie. The cake and cupcakes were for the groom and he requested a Red Velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and chocolate chips in the sponge, red velvet crumbles, and chocolate curls on top. Then he also wanted cupcakes in flavors of Lemon with lemon buttercream, Brown Sugar cupcakes with salted caramel buttercream frosting, and Vanilla Almond with strawberry jam filling and strawberry jam buttercream.

The wedding venue, Burritt on the Mountain, was absolutely stunning! It just so happened that the weather was perfect that night - low humidity and mild temperatures - and the view of Huntsville from the bluff was amazing.

Thank you Mark, Maddie, and Lydia (Mark's mom) for asking me to be a part of the special occasion. Wishing Mark and Maddie a lifetime of happiness!
