Research continues to show something Scripture has said all along: people who regularly choose discipline over comfort often report greater purpose, resilience, and long-term fulfillment. Growth rarely comes from ease. It is usually formed through perseverance, responsibility, sacrifice, and learning to do what is right even when we do not feel like it.

As parents, we are not called to create suffering or hardship for our children. That would be harmful. But we can teach them how to willingly embrace challenge, responsibility, self-control, hard work, honesty, serving others, and perseverance instead of constantly avoiding discomfort.

Character is usually not built in the easy moments. It is built when we choose what is good over what is easy.
