Every family deserves to feel safe in their home, their school, and their community. Every child deserves the freedom to learn, grow, and dream without the fear of gun violence.

In an average year, 1,003 New Yorkers lose their lives to gun violence (CDC, Underlying Cause of Death data). Behind that number are parents, children, friends, and neighbors whose lives were forever changed. We cannot accept this as inevitable.

Real leadership means having the courage to act. I am committed to supporting commonsense legislation that protects our communities, respects responsible gun ownership, and helps prevent needless tragedies before they happen.

Together, we can build a future where safety is not a privilege, but a promise we make to one another. A future where our children inherit stronger, safer communities and greater opportunities to thrive.
