Holiday Weekend = Higher Phishing Risk
Attackers know your IT support is at minimum levels. They know monitoring is reduced. They know decision-makers are unavailable.
That's exactly when they attack.
Phishing emails arrive when your team is processing messages quickly before leaving for the holiday. One click. One compromised account. By Monday, the damage is done.
Email filtering stops most attacks. Multi-factor authentication limits damage when credentials are compromised. But these protections only work if they're in place before the weekend.
That's where we come in.
Vanguard Cyber provides 24/7 security monitoring that doesn't take holidays. Our systems detect phishing attacks and unusual activity around the clock—whether your IT support is available or not.
We help businesses across multiple states protect operations during high-risk periods like holiday weekends. Managed IT services, email security, threat detection, and rapid response when something does go wrong.
You don't need to worry about what happens while you're away. We're monitoring.
Don't start the holiday weekend with undocumented security vulnerabilities. Let's make sure you're protected.

Tech Tip Tuesday: Add a Second Layer to Your Most Critical Account
Email accounts are the gateway to password resets and account recovery for most business applications. Compromising email means attackers can reset passwords and access all connected accounts.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on email:
Gmail/Google Workspace:
-Go to myaccount.google.com
-Click Security in the left menu
-Scroll to "Your devices" section
-Click 2-Step Verification
-Follow the setup wizard to add phone or authentication app
Microsoft 365/Outlook:
-Go to account.microsoft.com
-Click Security in the left menu
-Click Advanced security options
-Enable two-step verification
-Choose phone or authentication app as second factor
Apple Mail:
-Go to appleid.apple.com
-Click Security
-Enable Two-Factor Authentication
-Add trusted phone number
Why it matters:
Email account compromise gives attackers access to password reset links, confidential communications, and two-step verification codes for other accounts. Protecting email with 2FA prevents attackers from accessing accounts even if passwords are compromised.
Two-factor authentication requires a second verification method (phone code, authentication app, or security key) in addition to your password. This prevents unauthorized access even when credentials are stolen.
Email is your most critical account. Securing it with 2FA should be your first priority before enabling 2FA on other business applications.

Your Business Is a Target. Cybersecurity Isn't Optional.
Ransomware attacks. Phishing emails. Data breaches. Credential theft.
These aren't hypothetical threats. They're happening to businesses like yours every day—businesses without adequate cybersecurity in place.
The cost of a breach is devastating: lost revenue, downtime, legal liability, reputation damage, regulatory fines. It's not a question of if an attack will happen. It's a question of when.
Cybersecurity means:
â• Email filtering and threat detection stopping attacks before they reach your team
â•Multi-factor authentication preventing unauthorized access even when credentials are compromised
â•Network monitoring detecting unusual activity and responding before damage occurs
â•Backup and recovery procedures ensuring data is recoverable if systems are encrypted
â•Security awareness training reducing the human vulnerability that most attacks exploit
We provide comprehensive cybersecurity designed to protect your operations, your data, and your business.
