NW winds will be hovering around 20 mph today could possibly push some water offshore and be slightly lower than predicted. Did last month's Nor'easter actually add to the dune's vegetation and volume? It looks like it. The seaweed left at the high tide mark during the storm and the following overnight astronomically high tides provided the substrate for native beach vegetation to colonize along the "toe" end of the dunes and help trap more wind-blown sand. Who would have thought? This natural dune/beach building feature that seaweed can add to is recognized as advantageous in Florida
