Letty got her first wheelchair. She needs one a little bit taller but she figured it out very fast. She does try to use her back legs.

Photos from Doof’s Rescue Ranch's post 06/06/2026

Meet Letty, a little 6 week old lamb with limited mobility in her back legs. She was born unable to use her back legs. When we were asked if we could help it was an immediate yes! She reminded us of Doof and it was a little wink from heaven. We has multiple vet appointments scheduled over the next week to find out what might be going on. She doesn’t appear to be fully paralyzed as she tries to use her legs. However, we won’t know what is going on until the vets can look at her next week. We got her first wheels yesterday and she took off! She’s a spunky little one who just needs a little assistance to get around. There will be a lot more to come on this adorable little one so stay tuned. She will have many vet appointments and need multiple wheelchairs as she grows. All donations are tax deductible and every little bit helps.
You can also donate on Venmo (under the charities tab)

This is a fantastic organization! We don’t know the zip codes yet but last time they did this location the spots filled up in minutes. I will be volunteering all day. There’s something for everyone to do. Cowboy Feed Store can you share since people are always asking for spay/neuter services?

FAQ:
Can kids volunteer?
Volunteers must be 18 or older to be in rooms where animals are present or to handle animals (cat scribe, dog recovery, runner, data runner, or kennel). Students 14-17 may volunteer for setup or breakdown activities, ideally with teacher or parent supervision. A parent must also sign the volunteer waiver, which is emailed several days before the event.

Can volunteers sign up their pets or skip the registration line?
No, events target particular zip codes. Unless volunteers live in the selected zip codes, they are not able to participate. Volunteers who are eligible must go through the same process as the public - you CANNOT request to have the pet arrive late or leave early to coordinate with their volunteer shifts.

When can I sign up my pet?
Only pets living in specific zip codes can participate. The zip codes for the June event will be announced on Monday, May 18 - registration will take place the following week. Watch our social media pages for the most updated information!

Please contact [email protected] with any volunteering questions.

Introducing our newest intakes. Frito aka Milkshake (Frenchie), Dorito (white chi), and Cheeto (brown chi). We pulled them from Brazoria County Sheriff's Office - Animal Welfare Services right before the freeze to make space for dogs to get out of the weather. They were part of a large cruelty case. They are all underweight but they are slowly gaining weight. We will do additional posts about each of them but excited we can start sharing them now.

Thank you Cowboy Feed Store for allowing me to recreate this moment. If you don’t know, I have always said Doof sent Goaty to me after she passed. Doof’s best friend as a puppy was a goat. Goaty was born about a week after Doof passed and she has very similar mannerisms. Doof has definitely had a paw in every animal we have gotten since she passed away.

Thank you Brad Olson for taking Scratchy to Utah! He will be reunited with his brother Itchy and both will be available for adoption with Ruff Patch Rescue.

We love watermelon here! We had one plant go crazy. The animals are happy to eat all the extras though. Shoutout to my 82 year old dad for learning how to video on the spot. I may have a videographer now.

This just opened to all zip codes. It is a free spay/neuter event. They still need volunteers as well. You can sign up on their page.
