Valkyrie Course Part 2️⃣

Sailors with 2nd Medical Battalion participated in the second Joint Trauma System Valkyrie Prehospital Transfusion course at Tactical Medical Training Center, Camp Lejeune. 🩸

This five-day course teaches Sailors about whole blood transfusion, emergency transfusions, the different blood types and incompatibilities, donor screenings, adverse transfusion reactions, and blood storage and transportation. 🚁 🚑

The course focuses on learning and practical application of fresh whole blood collection and transfusion for patients in forward-deployed and austere environments. By attending this course our medical personnel sharpen their skills and are ready to save lives on tomorrow's battlefield. 💪
