Homeward Bound Recovery

Welcome to your new life, Millie! ❤️
Salem—now known as Millie to her new family—had just been adopted and, after a three-hour car ride, had finally made it home.
She was in the middle of meeting her new brother, Mack, when their leashes got tangled… and Millie decided that was her cue to make a dramatic exit. With her leash still attached, she took off two houses down and disappeared into the woods. Sean tried to keep up, but Millie had other plans.
Kimberly and Sean reached out to Bob from Aerial Recon. Bob came out Friday night to get the drone up in the air, but Millie was not interested in being found just yet. Kim talked the family through what to do at home. Our team knew this would be a tougher recovery since Millie was brand new and didn’t yet know her people—or her new brother.
Bob returned Saturday and finally spotted her with the drone. Thankfully, Millie decided to stay in the same general area for most of the day (a rare moment of cooperation). Even after losing visual, we knew she hadn’t gone far, so a trap was set where she had been hanging out.
By Sunday morning, Kimberly was getting multiple calls about sightings overnight and early morning. Then Sunday afternoon, the call came—Millie was in their backyard heading toward the neighbor’s house two doors down. That’s when we learned she had actually been visiting that neighbor three separate times… apparently conducting her own little neighborhood tour.
We quickly put another trap into the neighbor’s yard, and it didn’t take long before Millie finally decided it was time to clock out of her adventure and head inside.
She was safe, exhausted, covered in ticks and burrs—but finally home.
And now? She’s finally met her brother, Mack, and according to Kimberly, they’re already best buddies. Millie is also handing out kisses and demanding attention like she’s been there forever.
Welcome to your new life, Millie… maybe with a little less exploring next time. 😄

WELCOME HOME RILEY❤️🐾
Rileys Momma went on a cruise. A family member came to take care of him. He had decided he wanted a adventure too. So he pulled out of his harness and off he went. The family immediately reached out to us. There were multiple sightings at one address.
The next day a family member went out early in the morning to rebait the trap and unfortunately, Riley was standing there and got spooked by the headlights and ran.
We then moved the trap a bit. No more sightings until late afternoon, and it was a scary one. Riley was seen running across Grand River around 4pm.
So another trap was sent on the other side of Grand River in hopes he'd just find that one and not cross the busy road again.
Well that didn't work cause at 430am he was back at the first location. Took him all of 3 minutes to find his reservation with the yummy food.
AND HIS ADVENTURE ENDED SAFELY.
Great job to his family doing everything right from the start.
Riley I'm sure your Momma was very happy to see you when she got home.
