Howell continues to shine as an award-winning town, recognized as a Great American Main Street Award winner in 2018, a Michigan “Cool City,” and voted Best Main Street in America by USA Today readers in 2024. Our historic downtown blends charming 19th-century architecture with unique shops, dining, and local breweries, creating an inviting atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.

Recent community highlights include the groundbreaking of our new outdoor ice skating and gathering place, enhancing our social district, and the Motor Sports Gateway development all are boosting local economic growth. The Howell Melon Festival and Fantasy of Lights parade continue to bring us together, celebrating our signature melon and holiday spirit.

From the Howell Rotary Club’s beloved Melon ice cream presale to Agape City Church’s new worship center, our town is thriving with projects that foster connection and growth. Howell’s commitment to enhancing parks, paving local roads without raising taxes, and continuing our accredited police department all contribute to making our city a true gem in Southeast Michigan.
