Day 4: Love Without Judgment
Reading: Luke 6:27-38; Romans 5:6-8
Devotional: Jesus loved us while we were still sinners. He didn't wait for us to clean ourselves up or prove our worthiness. This radical love challenges everything the world teaches about conditional acceptance. When you encounter someone struggling, homeless, or caught in sin, the Spirit may prompt you to act—to give, to listen, to pray. Don't let pride, fear, or judgment silence that prompting. That person at the gas station, on the street corner, or in your workplace is created in God's image and deeply loved by Him. Your small act of obedience—a conversation, a prayer, financial help—might be the very thing that reminds them God hasn't forgotten them. Love boldly means setting aside your assumptions and responding to the Spirit's leading with grace and mercy.
Day 2: God Is Love
Reading: 1 John 4:7-21; Genesis 1:26-27
Devotional: Before anything existed, love existed because God is love. When God said, "Let us create humankind," it was spoken in love. You were created in love, called in love, delivered in love, and sustained in love. This isn't temporary or conditional love—it's eternal and unchanging. The world offers love based on performance, appearance, or agreement, but God's love transcends all conditions. Because God first loved us, we can love others. We don't love to earn God's favor; we love because we've already received it. When you encounter someone difficult today, remember they too are created in God's image. Let the love that created you flow through you to them, regardless of their response.
The Cross Demonstrates Bold Love
5-Day Devotional: Love Boldly Like Jesus
Day 1: The Greatest Commandment
Reading: Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Matthew 22:34-40
Devotional: The Shema reminds us that our God is one, and we are called to love Him with every fiber of our being—heart, soul, mind, and strength. This isn't a Sunday-only commitment or a feeling-based love. It's a daily, intentional practice that shapes how we think, speak, and interact with others. When the Pharisee tested Jesus about the greatest commandment, Jesus didn't hesitate—love God completely, then love your neighbor as yourself. These two commandments are inseparable. Your love for God must overflow into love for others. Today, examine your heart: Are you loving God with your entire being? Does that love translate into how you treat the people around you, even those who challenge you?
