AI and LLMs are changing online search for most industries. I was asked by TravelAge West about how this will change the digital rules for Travel Agents.
AI and answer engines are rewriting the rules they followed for years as more people use AI conversations to plan their own trips.
Answer engines now predict what travelers want it seems like before they even finish typing. They're getting instant answers instead of links from the first page.
For travel agents, this is a stressful time and changes the rules about visibility. But, AI-driven tools are now a competitive advantage. Here are a few of my insights:
- Topical Content that matches searcher intent, not just keywords
- Real-time optimization based on history and previous searches
- Design personalized experiences in your niche that convert browsers into the next client

Are you tracking AI-driven traffic to your website? As we see a shift in Search patterns, tracking this traffic grow and even drive key conversion actions is pretty impressive.
We don't have full visibility yet, but gaining an understanding of which pages we have optimized for Entities, NLP, and Schema and how they perform in AI is pretty exciting.
I am pretty sure someone is saying AI isn't Search, and someone else is saying SEO is Dead. But, at we are locked on to how AI search is impacting our clients and helping them grow.
