It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of the founder of Rose Steel Center, Irving Rose, who passed away Friday night.

For generations, Irving dedicated his life to building more than just a steel company—he built relationships, friendships, and a reputation that has stood the test of time. Since opening Rose Steel Center in 1939, he welcomed thousands of customers through our doors. Many of you became lifelong friends, and we are incredibly grateful for the memories you’ve shared with him over the years.

If you knew Irving, you knew he never missed an opportunity to strike up a conversation—or try to sell you something. Whether you came in for one piece of steel or just to say hello, he’d do everything he could to make sure you left with what you needed… and probably something extra. That determination, work ethic, and sense of humor were simply who he was.

He was tough, hardworking, and deeply devoted to his family, his employees, his customers, and this business. His legacy isn’t just the steel yard he built—it’s the countless lives he touched along the way.

As we mourn his loss, we also want everyone to know that Rose Steel Center isn’t going anywhere. Continuing this business was always important to him, and we fully intend to carry on the legacy he spent a lifetime building. We will continue to serve our customers, grow the business, and take Rose Steel Center to new heights. We hope to make him proud and give him every reason to look down with a smile.
