"..Perception is reality. How you present yourself is how people will perceive you." So we argued over which pictures should be used for her memorial. I argued we should present her at her best regardless of the time frame the picture was taken in. My position is that our memories don't really have time stamps but emotions that anchor us to the moment. When I remember her its the love, encouragement and belief in me that makes me miss her because those emotions are evoked when I think about her. It is difficult. It hasn't been difficult to see others with their mama but its the knowing we aren't making new memories; that hurts. Full disclosure I made this post because that's what she would have me do. Because if I didn't post about her on Mother's Day my silence would have caused you to write your own narrative of why I didnt post anything. I didn't want to leave room for negative "perceptions". In honor of you Deborah Crumbley on this Mother's Day 2026.
