Pursuing a truly productive path that inspires those around you?
A recent Fast Company article encourages leaders to do these three things.
-It is imperative for leaders to master the ability to switch gears quickly and laser-in on the discussion or task at hand. To get the most of your day, try carving out quiet time. Give yourself at least 30-minute blocks of uninterrupted focus. Silence your email, Slack, and iMessage notifications. Turn alerts off.
-Before attending a meeting, do your homework. Ensure that you have studied the prep materials and that you are prepared to contribute. If you find yourself zoning out in a meeting or trying to multitask, ask yourself if you should have even been in that meeting to begin with.
-When you’re interacting with your team, set the tone and lead with purpose.

'Tis the season for holiday fetes and with all that merriment can come potential mishaps.
This week, we're sharing corporate party etiquette for the holiday season. Managing Director Jane Howze offers insight on how to keep the celebrations merry and bright.
First up. Mindset matters.
"Many people go to a holiday business party (theirs or a business client's or partner's) with the wrong mindset. They assume it is a party—which it is in a sense. But more importantly, work occurs under different conditions from the normal workday but with many of the same people. There are people at the party who establish your salary, if you are ready for the promotion or if they want to do business with you. Because you are not in the office it can be tempting to be overly casual or to say things that you would not otherwise say in the office."
