there's a lot of people who say, "oh! wouldn't it be awful & dystopian if" then go on to describe exactly what life is like at present for people who those in power regard and treat as less than fully human

no one should experience these sorts of things, and that should be enough of a reason why we oppose them, but it's also true that they're always training their forms of oppression on people they think are weak enough that they can get away with it, and they'll move on to other groups as the methods become perfected
