Pretty in Pink 💕

I placed pearlescent rice paper sails cascading down the side and a sugar sail on top for this cake, and I’m in love how both techniques came together!

Underneath this pink ombréness is my decadent and fudgy chocolate cake!

2021 is off to a great start with this being the first cake I baked this year!

Funny story about me and wedding cakes... every time I’ve had a customer inquire about making one for them, I’ve always had travel plans for those dates and so have never been able to take them on! I’ve made smaller wedding cakes before, but it’s the grand ones that have always managed to slip away!

I’m so glad chose me make her wedding cake, she was such a wonderful bride to work with! And ecstatic that it worked out and I didn’t have any travel plans 😂

Inside is a vanilla bean cake, filled with fresh strawberry jam filling, all covered with vanilla buttercream.

The shimmer stencil by on the bottom 2 tiers adds just that little extra glamor to the cake ✨ and I got that perfect shade of dusty rose and mauve using .mill 💕
