Today I'm focused on just being content. Not wanting more or less, but being happy with right where I am. So much beauty in that.

I love working with women who are at the top of their game. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Ami and Teresa on their rebrand. This week we got to create some amazing new photos for their growing educational consulting firm. It was so much fun! I’m excited to see the finished photos. Thank you to Que with for another wonderful brand shoot. I also took some great behind the scenes photos that I’ll share in my stories.

I've been a UX Designer for more than 20 years. It took me a while to admit that. Mostly because I didn't want to date myself for fear that it would limit my opportunities with some of the larger corporations that I serve because...ageism is real. ​​​​​​​​

I now KNOW that this experience is what makes me special, it's my differentiator. ​​​​​​​​

When I walk into rooms now, I own the fact that I've been learning and growing in my field for more than two decades. Truth be told, I haven't stopped learning. What's nice is that companies also value this experience. I have over 10 years of experience doing UX for Oil and Gas companies and it has made me not only valued, but rare. You don't see many black women running UX consulting firms in such a male-dominated industry. I still walk into rooms where I'm the only woman, and sometimes the only person of color but it doesn't faze me. I'm committed to changing that. I no longer want to be the ONLY. I am excited about pouring everything I can into the next generation of UX designers. Not just the basics but all the nuances of navigating a career. Things have changed and its time my industry catch up.​​​​​​​​
