Many have asked for my opinion so I’ll give it. Honestly, to me today’s news of Compass acquiring Anywhere feels like another blow in an industry increasingly obsessed with size over substance. At Epique, we’re not just another brokerage to be swallowed up in this race for dominance…we’re a family fighting to preserve what makes real estate human: our agents. It’s disheartening to see agents treated like pieces on a chessboard, moved around to pad someone else’s empire. But we won’t waver. We are a sanctuary where agents are valued, not acquired. Where they’re given the benefits, tools, freedom, and community to build their own dreams, not someone else’s bottom line. This moment only strengthens our resolve to stay true to our roots, to be the brokerage that stands up for agents, no matter how loud the industry’s giants roar. To me a brokerages worthiness comes from its heart, not its headcount. If this is the best for the agents there, great. But something tells me that’s not their mission.
