Recognized by the National Electrical Code (NEC), Type W portable power cable is classified as acceptable for hard or extra hard usage and is permitted for use in temporary wiring applications, while welding cable is not. Using UL Listed Type W for all temporary wiring applications enables usage for a great array of applications.
