Hip-Hop radio is losing one of its biggest voices. Funkmaster Flex has officially announced his departure from Hot 97 after three decades on the air.

Flex, known for his iconic bomb drops and breaking some of Hip-Hop’s biggest records, became a defining voice of New York radio in the ’90s and beyond. From debuting Jay-Z and DMX to sparking viral debates, he helped shape the sound of the culture.
