Very honored to have Mayor Sylvester Turner present resolution against hatred, bigotry and antisemitism this morning on anniversary of shooting in Pittsburgh.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner was joined by Rep. Lizzie Fletcher in a proclamation declaring today AJC's Day in action against antisemitism on the anniversary of the attack on the Tree of Life Synagogue campus in Pittsburgh. This morning at Congregation Beth Yeshurun Allan Van Fleet, AJC Houston President, introduced Mayor Turner and Rep. Fletcher citing AJC's recently released survey of American Jews. The survey results showed 88% believe antisemitism in a problem and 84% believe there has been an increase in the past five years. American Jews placed blame for the rise on the political left (64%) and the right wing (89%). At the same time, 95 % of American Jews are not afraid to attend services or events at Jewish synagogues or institutions.
