I’ve been feeling stuck. Artistically. And struggling to figure out why. Then I realized something…. Interesting.
Houston has always been the same, it just comes in cycles. The catty, immature, mean girl behavior like we never left school always comes back around.
The desire for certain bodies on certain stages while actively excluding others comes back around.
Being made fun of and critiqued by folks doing the exact same thing they critique me for comes back around.
New artists ignoring the advice they asked for and then getting into trouble comes back around.

I’ve experienced it before and I’ll experience it over and over and over again…… much like how I’ve gotten through it over and over and over again. But this feels different and I think it is because I’ve stayed soft for too long and for too many people. Focusing on acts that’ll get booked rather than the things I truly want to do.

So I guess it’s time to revamp some acts and sell off pieces I don’t click with anymore to make room for what speaks to my dark little heart. That and getting back to being active and social, both online and in real life.
