Morning friends. To offer up a little unknown something about Darren, I give you:
So, after loosing a job, and while in graduate school, I started Earthtones by d.p.Etlinger in the fall of 2001. I took a hobby of making primarily metal furniture--something I had been doing since 1996--and billed my self as a maker of custom metal furnishings, accessories, functional art and sculpture. I rented a warehouse space near downtown Houston, where I lived and worked from 2001-2005. My warehouse space eventually became part of a larger warehouse art community where roughly 50 other artists rented space--where we participated in private shows and collective shows in our greater space as well as being a stop along the downtown ArtCrawl & FotoFest.
