🌟 Impact Wednesday: Latinos in Heritage Conservation

We recently visited Latinos in Heritage Conservation's team in Houston to present a THF grant supporting the continued expansion of the organization's bilingual Latinx Preservation Toolkit.

The grant will help fund new case studies and community workshops across Texas, providing practical preservation resources for both rural and urban communities. Through the Toolkit, local leaders gain the knowledge and tools needed to document their histories, protect cultural heritage, and advocate for preservation in their communities.

👏🏼 By making preservation knowledge more accessible, Latinos in Heritage Conservation is helping ensure that the diverse stories, traditions, and places that shape Texas are recognized, preserved, and shared for future generations.

🌟 Impact Wednesday: Texas Heritage Project of , San Antonio

We're proud to support the Texas Heritage Project, an initiative of American Indians in Texas - Spanish Colonial Missions dedicated to documenting and preserving the histories, cultures, and traditions of Indigenous peoples in South Texas and Northern Mexico.

Over the past 11 years, the project has built a remarkable community-based archive containing more than 26,000 photographs, maps, articles, and historical records contributed by local families and communities. A recent THF grant will help transform this research into a published book, highlighting the region's First Peoples and the diverse cultural heritage that continues to shape South Texas today while broadening our understanding of Texas history.
